They Don’t Teach “You” in School

Good Thursday morning!
I can tend to be a little wordy, so every once in a while I’m going to be intentionally short and to the point. Today is one of those days, and here’s what I’m thinking:
Be True to You
You are the only “You” you have
Have you met her yet?
They don’t teach “You” in school
School is great for teaching the brain,
for helping you define and succeed at “What” you will be, but
there are no lessons on the “Who” of you — the “You” of you,
And that’s why there’s folks like me.
Without formal education in the “Who” piece of ourselves, we kind of stumble through life just letting that most important part of us figure itself out. It brings to mind statements like “Fly by the seat of your pants” and “Trial and error.” Is this really enough attention to give to getting to know and love and nurture the most important part of you? The “Who” of you?
Who do you want to be and how do you want to show up in your life? These are important questions and are the key to being true to you in your life. The Gospel John said, “The truth will set you free.” I believe him! So go find your truth. Get to know the truest part of you. You’ll be totally glad you did!
I hope you have an amazing day that makes your heart sing.
Til next time, keep it real!
Shannon

Thanks, Keyrui. EI was exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote this. Well, self-awareness and EI — two key factors to success that are, in deed, not traditionally taught in schools and not so much anywhere else, for that matter.

This rocks Shannon! This is Emotional Intelligence in Action… and what people need to really succeed.
